MTN Ghana Dominates The Telecommunications Space According To Latest Data By The NCA

According to the latest data by the National Communications Authority (NCA), MTN Ghana is still the leading telecom operator in terms of number of subscribers.

According to the NCA, MTN Ghana has a 53.54% market share with 21,463,215 active subscribers in October 2019.

Vodafone is currently the second with 23.27% market share with 9,328,713 subscribers.

AirtelTigo follows up with 8,572,856 subscribers (21.39% market share) and Glo with 722,589 (1.80% market share)

2G/3G Data Subscriptions

When it comes to mobile data subscription, MTN leads the market again with 17,487,913 subscribers representing 68.74% market share for 2G/3G.

AirtelTigo is in second place with 4,174,264 data subscribers with 16.41% market share and Vodafone in third place with 3,513,525 data subscribers representing 13.81% market share.

Glo trailed all telcos with 265,535 representing 1.04% market share.

4G Data Subscriptions

For 4G subscriptions, the total number of subscriptions according to NCA data was 1,959,367 at the end of October 2019. MTN currently has 1,959,367 total 4G subscribers.

Again, MTN led the market with 1,765,387 subscriptions (90% share). Vodafone comes in second with 145,520 (7.4%).

Surfline has 45,346 subscribers (2.3%), Telesol has 1,821 and Blu Ghana has 235.
