MTN Ghana is hoping to launch its 5G network in Ghana in 2022 according to MTN Ghana’s CEO Mr. Selorm Adadevoh.
Speaking at a Business Breakfast programme yesterday at the MTN House at Ridge, Mr Selorm Adadevoh stated that MTN Ghana has always been to embrace change and serve customers with products as and when the need arises.
“Innovation has been a key pillar of our growth. We are always trying to make sure we can be the first to launch the next technology but not only to be the first but to actually bring that technology to the market and create value out of that technology. So 2G, 3G, 4G, and now 5G hopefully next year“, he stated.
The MTN Ghana CEO also stated that there would be continuous investment to make cellular and data connectivity available in even the most rural areas of the country.
MTN currently dominates the mobile and data space in Ghana with a marketshare of about 68%.
Currently, 5G networks are available in South Africa and Kenya on MTN and Vodacom. 5G trials are ongoing in Gabon, Lesotho, Nigeria, Uganda, Egypt and Morocco.
