How To: Edit A Message On WhatsApp After Its Sent

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

Editing messages on WhatsApp can be a handy feature for correcting mistakes or clarifying information after you’ve already hit send.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate this process:

  1. Open WhatsApp: Launch the app on your device and navigate to the chat containing the message you wish to edit.
  2. Select the Message: Tap and hold the message until a menu pops up.
  3. Edit Option: If the message is eligible for editing (i.e., it was sent within the last 60 minutes), you’ll see an ‘Edit’ option in the menu. Tap on it.
  4. Make Your Changes: The message will become editable. Make your corrections or changes as needed.
  5. Resend: Once you’ve made your edits, tap the ‘Send’ button to update the message.

Remember, edited messages will have an “edited” label, so recipients know that the original message has been modified.
