Botswana has granted a license to SpaceX’s Starlink unit to operate in the country. Earlier in the year, the country rejected Starlink’s bid to operate.

Regulators in Botswana were asked to fast-track approval of the license after President Mokgweetsi traveled to the US to meet with Starlink executives.

In February, Botswana rejected Starlink’s application to operate in the country ahead of its planned launch in Q4 2024 because regulators found that the company did not provide all the required information.

Starlink was granted a license last week by Botswana’s neighbor Zimbabwe.
