Binance CEO, Richard Teng, is calling for the release of one of its executives from Nigerian custody after a 6 month detention.

In a recent blog post, the current Binance CEO is Nigerian authorities to release Tigran Gambaryan from custody due to his deteriorating health condition after being in Nigerian custody for the past six months.
In his post, Mr Teng stated that the Nigerian government has refused adequate medical care, including basic needs such as providing access to a wheelchair. He added that the authorities are refusing to provide access to his legal counsel, despite a trial commencing on 2 September.

Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla were arrested in Nigeria in March 2024 on charges that the crypto firm had caused the depreciation of the local Naira currency due to tax evasion and its crypto activities
Nadeem Anjarwalla reportedly absconded from authorities and fled to Kenya.
