People LOVE rankings. In the internet age, rankings and lists seem to be all the rage. So here’s some social media rankings in Ghana of the Most Influential Embassy, Most Influential Comedian, Most Influential Ghanaian Actor and Most Influential Hotel and Hospitality Facility.
The 2017 Ghana Social Media Ranking is spearheaded by Avance Media, CliQAfrica, Eazzy Social and Dream Ambassadors Foundation GH.
Most Influential Embassy
Ghana’s US Embassy has retained their feat as the most influential embassy and high commission in Ghana on Social Media.
The ranking which was curbed from their Facebook and Twitter account activities also has the US Embassy in Ghana recording new followings of 48,366 and total following of 311,301 also making them the most followed embassy and high commission in Ghana.
Following keenly in the ranking is the Australian High Commission in Ghana and the Canadian Embassy in Ghana who recorded a high level of engagement in 2017.
New Entrants in the ranking include Australian High Commission Ghana and Denmark Embassy Ghana who made 2nd and 9th positions respectively.

Most Influential Comedian
Comic actor, Funny Face has retained his laurel, as the Most Influential Comedian on Social Media in the 2017 Ghana Social Media Ranking and Report.
Funny Face who has total followers across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter numbering over 2.9 Million also gained over 550,000 new followers, the highest number of new followers among comedians in Ghana in 2017.
Following him closely is DKB, who has a total following of over 160,000 but recorded a high level of engagement with followers in the year under review making him move from 5th Position in the previous ranking to his current 2nd position.
Comic actor, Lawyer Nti and Comedian OB also made their first entry on the ranking of the 2017 Most Influential Comedians on Social Media picking 8th and 9th positions respectively.

Most Influential Ghanaian Actor
Actor John Dumelo has ranked as the Most Influential Ghanaian Actor on Social media.
John Dumelo who retains his position from the 2016 ranking, also gained over 1.1 Million new followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram recording over 7.6 Million Followers in total.
1st runner-up, Yvonne Nelson who also retains her position from the previous ranking, gained 1.3 Million new followers across the 3 platforms monitored making her the most followed Ghanaian actor on social media with over 7.8 Million followers.
According to the report, John Dumelo recorded a marginal level of Engagement with his pages, making it the most influential.
This category recorded no new entry but has actors such as Nadia Buari, Nana Ama McBrown, and Emelia Brobbey potentially making the ranking in subsequent editions.

Movenpick Ambassador Hotel has retained its prominent position as the most influential hotel and hospitality facility in Ghana on Social Media in the 2017 Ghana Social Media Rankings.
Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, which has a total following of over 85,00 across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter recorded a high level of engagement to beat off fierce rivals, Royal Senchi Hotel who also has a total following numbering over 130000.
According to the report, Accra City Hotel gained the highest number of followers in 2017 numbering 41,752.
New entrants on the 2017 ranking include: Royal Senchi Hotel, Oak Plaza Hotel, Accra City Hotel who placed 2nd, 3rd and 9th Positions respectively on the ranking.
