John Awuah is the CEO of the Ghana Association of Banks (GAB). A seasoned banking executive, he has held senior leadership roles at Universal Merchant Bank (CEO), GCB Bank (Finance Director), Ecobank Capital (Group CFO), Barclays Bank Ghana, UBA Ghana, and Standard Chartered.
He is a chartered accountant (FCCA, ICAG member) with a BCom (First-Class, University of Cape Coast) and an MBA from Oxford Brookes University (UK).
John is also active on several boards and committees, including the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), GAB Health Insurance Company, and the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is recognized for driving bank turnarounds, financial innovation, and strengthening Ghana’s banking sector.
