According to a new document released by the World Bank covering the best port performance in the world, Berbera port in Somaliland was judged the best port in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2023. It also placed 103rd on the world overall rankings.
Based on the report, Takoradi port in Ghana was adjudged the 7th best port with Tema port placed at 30th ranking.
The performance index measures amongst other things, how long a ship docks, unloads its containers, and moves to its next location.
