Bolt Confirms That “Bolt Food” Will Also Exit The South African Market

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

Last week, Bolt announced that Bolt Food was leaving the Nigerian market on 7th December due to market conditions. Bolt also confirmed that it will exit the South African market on 8th December this year.

This shutdown in both Nigeria and South Africa is part of the company’s larger strategy.

Bolt Food launched in Cape Town, South Africa in April 2020 and has been delivering to customers from about 300 restaurants. It was also operating in Johannesburg.

Bolt Food currently operates in Ghana and Kenya and Bolt hasn’t stated if they plan to shut down in those markets yet.
