Chipper Cash has reportedly laid off more staff including its Chief Operating Officer and Kenya Country Manager.

Driving The News

TechCabal confirmed by email that Chipper Cash had laid off some of its staff including its vice president of marketing, Alicia Levin, the global chief operating officer, and Leon Kiptum, the country director for Kenya. The company did not disclose the total number of layoffs.

What They’re Saying

In an email to TechCabal, Chipper Cash stated, “As part of our previously announced restructuring as an organization to focus on core products and markets, we recently made redundant a very small number of roles across our global teams.”

The Bigger Picture

This new round of layoffs would be the third time the company had let staff go. In February, Chipper Cash announced layoffs of over 100 employees.

Chipper Cash had been affected on two fronts: The FTX and Silicon Valley collapse.

The company had been exploring either a sale or merger to help with liquidity challenges. No announcements have been made yet on those two options.
