Ghana’s 2024 elections just ended with a new President chosen by the citizens. Here’s all the data we’ve gathered relating to Ghana’s 2024 General elections, including the presidential and parliamentary results.

Presidential Race

In the race, John Mahama got 6,328,397 of all valid votes cast. This represents 56.55% of the 11,191,513 votes cast.

In this year's election, there were a total of 18.77 million registered voters. The overall voter turnout was 60.9%, the third lowest voter turnout in Ghana's election history.


Ghana's Parliament

The National Democrat Congress (NDC) led by John Mahama won a majority of seats in Ghana's Parliament. The NDC has won 195 seats, gaining 58 new seats from 2020. The National Patriotic Party (NPP) won 77, losing 60 seats.

Independent candidates won 4 seats.

Female Representation in Parliament

Surprising, the number of female representation in Ghana's next parliament will increase but by only 3.

According to electoral results, the next parliament will be represented by 43 women, representing only 15.6% of Ghana's Parliament.

There were 33 women from the NDC and 10 from the NPP.



Online Ad Spend on Elections

According to some data sources, President-Elect John Mahama spent an estimated $70,219 on Meta ads, including Facebook and Instagram. His opponent reported spending only $29,920 in comparison.
