A new initiative, HerPress, aims to flip the script through professional development, mentorship, and community support.
What’s happening
HerPress is launching a 3-month program (June–August) for 20 early to mid-career women journalists committed to impactful storytelling and career growth.
- Participants will spend five days per month in workshops on investigative journalism, leadership, safety, and community reporting.
- The initiative includes one-on-one mentorship and a speaker series featuring local and international journalists.
Why it matters
The program is designed to amplify underreported issues like gender-based violence, human rights, and public health—areas often overlooked in mainstream media.
What’s next
Fellows will produce original journalism projects supported by a media campaign. A stipend will be provided, and the program wraps up with a graduation and networking event.
