According to a white paper by ANKA, a leading e-commerce platform in Africa, the top 5 countries with at least 1000 active women sellers on its platform are Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Kenya, and Ghana.
According to the data, Ghana was also the highest one of the highest annual volume in terms of sales, bringing in $3,102 annually with Nigeria leading the way with $11,262.
Their estimates also state that a seller on the ANKA platform earns on average $185 per month.
Digging Deeper
The report also highlighted that WhatsApp was the best online sales channel for sellers in Africa with social media being the largest point of sale.

According to data, although social media is good for advertising and visibility, it doesn’t convert to sales.
The data confirms that well-edited newsletters generate more (and better) visits to the website than Instagram posts.
