Ghana Credit Institutions Saw a 46% Increase In Enquires For Loans in 2023

According to a report from the Bank of Ghana, there were 13,745,137 credit enquires made by financial institutions and authorized users, a 46.5% increase from the previous year.

According to the report, Ghana Banks conducted the highest number of enquiries on the credit bureaus with a total of 10,698,100 searches representing 77.8% of total enquiries.

97% of searches conducted on the database of credit bureaus were conducted on individual borrowers.

Digging Deeper

In 2023, data providers submitted an average of 21,188,043 loan records to credit bureaus every month. This represented a 455% increase compared to 3,820,194 records submitted in the previous year.
