Ghana officially switched to democratic rule in 1992 with its first general election.

So far, Ghana has been dominated by two political parties: the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the National Patriotic Party (NPP).

The data points below show the trend of votes in each general election. Ghana has a general election every four years.
