The Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, recently announced that the government would be implementing an electronic visa (E-Visa) system next year.

The Vice-President made this announcement when he spoke at the first Regional Congress on Women Empowerment in the Tourism Sector – Focus on Africa, in Accra on Monday.

E-Visa And How It Works

An eVisa is a visa issued without a physical label (sticker) in your passport. It’s an alternative to the physical visa label put in a passport.

A traveler simply applies online to obtain an eVisa. When an eVisa application has been approved, a notice to the applicant for a link to download and print the eVisa.

The eVisa is then presented at immigration checkpoints where it’s scanned for verification upon arrival by the traveler.
