Ghana’s Digital Marketing Industry Is Growing. The Harder Question Is Whether It Can Scale

As digital marketing expands across Ghana, the next challenge is building the skills, teams and systems needed to turn growth into lasting impact

Ghana’s digital marketing industry has come a long way. Businesses are investing in social media, online advertising, content, search engine optimisation and other digital channels to reach customers and grow their brands.

Yet being visible online is not the same as building a sustainable business. Campaigns may generate attention without sales. Teams may produce content without a clear strategy. Businesses may attract customers but struggle to retain them or turn early success into long-term growth.

As artificial intelligence reshapes marketing and the demand for digital skills continues to evolve, an important question emerges: Can Ghana’s digital marketing industry move beyond activity and build the people, processes and strategies needed to scale?

This question will take centre stage at the second edition of the Digital Marketers Conference by MojoPay, scheduled for Saturday, 21 November 2026, at the British Council in Accra.

Organised by the Marketers & Advertisers Network (MAN), with Denalis Digital as agency partner, the conference will bring together marketers, business leaders, digital professionals and emerging talent under the theme Built to Scale.

The theme reflects a challenge facing professionals and businesses alike: how to build something that can grow without losing its effectiveness.

Beyond Digital Skills: Building Yourself

The ability to use digital tools is important, but lasting impact requires more than technical knowledge. Marketers must also develop strategic thinking, communication, commercial awareness and the ability to adapt as the industry changes.

As AI tools become more accessible, the ability to use them effectively will matter. However, understanding customer behaviour, interpreting data, making sound decisions and connecting marketing activity to business outcomes remain essential.

The conference will explore professional growth through its Build Yourself programme, featuring a panel discussion, a presentation and a masterclass.

The panel will bring together Alex Offei Lartey, Marketing Communications and Digital Solutions Consultant at GNPC; Emelia Dede Quist, Employer Engagement Manager at Generation Ghana; and Ronald Tagoe, Founder and CEO of mNotify.

The session will examine the personal and professional foundations needed to grow in a changing industry, including how marketers develop their capabilities, position themselves, and remain relevant.

Beyond the panel, Isaac Newton Acquah will deliver the Build Yourself presentation, while Samuel Kwabena Ansong will lead the Pitching Yourself masterclass, giving participants an additional opportunity to develop how they communicate their value and present themselves professionally.

Building Teams That Can Grow

Individual talent can drive progress, but sustainable growth also depends on the people working together behind the scenes.

For businesses, scaling often introduces new challenges. Responsibilities become more complex, communication can break down, and leaders must learn to delegate while maintaining quality and direction. Hiring more people alone does not necessarily solve these problems.

The Build Your Team session will explore the human side of growth, including strategic hiring, workplace culture, psychological safety, delegation, talent development, retention and mentorship.

Its panel hosted by Alice Mensah will feature Sena Quashie from Media General, Simon Alangde from Wineloya Digital and Florentia Teye from MTN.

The discussion will consider how organisations can attract the right people, build effective teams and create working environments that support both performance and development.

For Ghanaian businesses seeking to expand, these questions are particularly relevant. Sustainable growth requires more than individual brilliance; it calls for teams that can collaborate, adapt and deliver consistently.

Building Work That Lasts

The third programme pillar, Build Your Work, will focus on building, refining and scaling projects, products and professional endeavours.

Ideas are important, but turning them into lasting results requires strong foundations, reliable execution systems and the ability to respond to setbacks. Creativity must work alongside strategy and execution if a promising idea is to become something sustainable.

The Build Your Work panel will feature Yvonne Dumor from Google and Elikplim Yaa Ayegbe from Jobberman. Their discussion will explore practical approaches to building impactful work, navigating operational and strategic challenges, and developing the foundations for long-term success.

For marketers, this means thinking beyond individual campaigns and considering the wider systems that support results: how work is planned, how performance is measured, how teams execute, and how lessons from experience inform future decisions.

For entrepreneurs and business leaders, the same principles apply to the products, services and organisations they are building.

Why the Conversation Matters Now

Ghana’s digital marketing industry needs spaces where experienced professionals, emerging talent and business leaders can exchange ideas, share practical lessons and build meaningful relationships.

Training and online resources can help people acquire knowledge, but opportunities to learn from other practitioners and discuss real-world challenges also matter. Professional networks can help bridge the gap between learning, execution and career growth.

The Digital Marketers Conference by MojoPay builds on the maiden edition held in 2025 at the Google AI Centre in Accra. The event brought together professionals and emerging marketers for discussions on the changing digital marketing landscape.

Highlights from the first edition are available on YouTube. Previous coverage was also published by Techlabari and Kasad3.

The 2026 edition builds on that foundation with a focus on Built to Scale and a programme spanning professional development, team building and the execution of impactful work.

The conference is expected to bring together more than 250 participants in Accra, creating an opportunity for learning, professional exchange and networking across Ghana’s marketing community.
