Ghana’s Electronic Levy (E-Levy) Revenue

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

Ghana’s Controversial E-Levy’s bill was passed in Ghana’s Parliament in March 2022. The bill aimed to help bring in more revenue.

The bill put a levy on the electronic transfer of money for Ghanaians. It put a 1.5% tax on the transfer of mobile money from one network to another network after a threshold of 100 GHC was passed.

The bill was later revised to 1% with the removal of the threshold of 100 GHC.
