Inclusive Financial Technologies, a Ghanaian startup, has been shortlisted along with other startups for the Startupbootcamp (SBC) Africa Cape Town accelerator.

This is the final step in the selection process before SBC Africa next month announces the final 10 startups that will take part in its second Startupbootcamp Cape Town accelerator.

Startupbootcamp CEO, Phillip Kiracofe, made the following announcement about the selection:

From 1004 applications we have managed to narrow down to 22 of the most creative teams tackling daunting African problems. One of the key differentiators for startups that participate in the SBC Accelerator is the opportunity to secure commercial contracts with our sponsors.”

He further stated:

In order to make it onto our top 22, each startup has been chosen by at least two sponsors for potential proof of concept projects. The 2018 cohort is already shaping up to be a milestone moment for Africa.

Of the 22 startups selected, eight are from Nigeria, five from South Africa, three from Uganda, two from Ivory Coast and Kenya and one each from Ghana and Ireland.

The final 10 will be announced on 12 July at PwC’s Cape Town offices.
