At their event in Nigeria, Google unveiled Gallery Go, a new app designed to allow users to organize their photos even with unreliable internet.
Their current app, Google Photos, uses machine learning and the internet to organize your photos. But with Gallery Go, the app is designed to work offline and only uses 10MB on a device.
Google’s new photos app is can currently be downloaded from the Play Store. It, however, requires devices running Android 8.1 or higher.
Here Come The “Lite” Apps
Gallery Go is just the latest lightweight version of an app designed for developing markets.
Other companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Spotify have announced and released “lite” versions of their product which are smaller in size and are designed to work offline or with bad internet connections.
