If you thought there couldn’t be enough ride-sharing apps in Ghana, then you couldn’t be more wrong.
Another ride-sharing app has launched in Ghana and this time, it’s coming with a food and delivery service.
Hello Ride and Hello Delivery is an online transportation as well as a food and delivery service app. The app is developed by the Africent Group.
The app was officially launched on December 29, 2017.
Services
Just like many of the other ride-sharing apps, Hello Ride offers online ride-hailing services while the Hello Delivery services offer online food and delivery services including groceries as well as laundry services.
The Africent group also offers its services in Nigeria.
Viable Competitor Or Just Another App?
With HelloRide/HelloDelivery launching, that adds to the list of the ever-growing list of ridesharing companies in the market including:
- Uber
- Yenko
- Enshika
- Dropping
- Uru
- Taxify
What makes this new entry interesting is the online delivery service. Uber has a service called UberEats (See: Fast Food: Could UberEats Work In Ghana?) which hasn’t officially launched in Ghana. But if HelloDelivery can pull its weight, it could create a unique experience for foodies and leave Uber catching up if it ever launches its food service in Ghana.
Whether users will adopt HelloRide is a whole other question. Most riders recognize Uber as their default option when it comes to ridesharing. But more competition and options are always a good thing for the consumer as it could trigger a price war for attracting riders and drivers.
You can download the HelloRide/HelloDelivery app on iOS store or Google Playstore
