Herman Chinery-Hesse, a prominent Ghanaian entrepreneur and founder of SOFTtribe, has passed away in Accra. He was 61 years old.
About Herman Chinery-Hesse
Herman Chinery-Hesse was born in Ireland. He grew up in Tanzania, Uganda, Sierra Leone, and Switzerland.
He attended Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast, Ghana.
He got his first degree in Industrial Technology from Texas State University. From the US, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he worked as a manufacturing engineer.
He returned to Ghana in 1990, founding his software company SOFTtribe in 1991, which went on become one of the leading software houses in Africa.
He was named as one of the “Top 100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy Magazine.
