You’ve probably been saying a lot of colored boxes on your Twitter feed and have been wondering what the heck it was.

Well, if you don’t know, it’s a popular online web based game called “Wordle“. The objective is to guess the a daily 6 letter word in six tries.

The games helps with some hints when you play. For example, if you guess a letter correct in one try, the letter will turn “green” indicating that its correctly placed. A letter will turn “yellow” indicating that its in the word but its positioning is incorrect. A letter which turns “grey” indicates that it’s not part of the word.

How To Get Started

If you want to get started, you go to Wordle – The New York Times (nytimes.com) on your browser on your phone or your computer.

You’ll be given blank squares to get started. You use your the virtual keyboard to start guessing the word of the day.

Quick Tip: You should have a strategy when you start playing. The best strategy is to try and use up the vowel letters (AEIOU) in your first couple of tries.

When you get the word correctly, all the spaces should be filled wih green letters. You’ll get a stat showing your current win streak and when the next wordle will be available.

You can use the share button which copies your Wordle and you can post on social media.

Good luck!
