It was a nice warm day in Accra. Warm might be putting it mildly but that didn’t stop the folks at Tigo from going ahead with their Blue Light District promo at the Achimota Mall.  The event was to create a hang-out for customers and potential customers to experience the Tigo brand and their newly improved high-speed reliable internet. Some of the sponsors for the event included Ghana eSports Association and Guinness Breweries Ghana.

In addition to having a “Selfie” booth for users to take pictures, there was also a gaming tournament set up for fans of FIFA 17 on Playstation 4.

The tournament featured 64 gamers, 8 game stations, 1 champion. Frank Adotey Kpakpo, also known as ‘WonderKid’ won the competition and was awarded GHS2,500

The first runner-up Yaw Boakye Amponsah received GHS1,500 while Emmanuel Lawson came third with a prize of GHS700 and Kenneth Robinson Larbi came in fourth and took home GHS300.

Users also got to browse the internet with free WiFi provided by Tigo as well as cool off with some refreshments and drinks.

There was also vendors like Betway and others like Kandy’s Smoothies, Nallem Clothing, Wild Cherry, Bata Shoes, MV Accessories, and Slay Cosmetics.

In the evening, a mini concert took place with acts like Epixode, and Jupitar and DJ Virusky on the deck.
