The 2024 Summer Olympic Games officially open in Paris this week on Friday 26th July.

According to available data, Kenya leads all African countries in Summer Olympic medals. The East African country has a total of 113 with 35 Gold, 42 Silver, and 36 Bronze medals.

South Africa and Ethiopia are second and third with 89 and 58 medals respectively.

Ghana has never won a Gold medal but has a total of 5 medals with 1 Silver and 4 Bronze medals.
