Leta Expands to Ghana, Eyes Pan-African logistics Dominance

2 Min Read

Kenyan logistics software startup Leta has launched operations in Ghana, marking its seventh African market after Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mauritius.

The move follows a $5 million seed round in March 2025.

Driving the news

Leta, founded in 2021 by Nick Joshi, builds AI-powered logistics software that helps businesses manage fleets, optimise delivery routes, and cut transport costs.

Its Ghana entry kicks off with Simbisa Brands Limited, one of Africa’s largest quick service restaurant groups with over 600 outlets across 11 countries.

We are officially live in Accra with our first customer on the ground,” Joshi said on Wednesday on LinkedIn.

Why it matters

As supply chain challenges persist across Africa, Leta is betting on software—not infrastructure—to solve delivery inefficiencies. Its platform is designed to help businesses operate more efficiently in difficult logistical environments.

Since its pre-seed in 2022, Leta claims:

  • 5X revenue growth
  • 4.5 million deliveries handled
  • 150,000 tonnes of goods moved
  • 7,400+ vehicles managed

It supports major clients like KFC, East African Breweries Limited, Wells Fargo Courier, and Gilani’s.

Between the lines

The March 2025 funding round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from Google’s Africa Investment Fund and Equator. The funds are focused on product refinement and geographic expansion.

Our investors’ backing validates our vision and progress,” Joshi said in March. “We’re looking to empower more businesses with a cost-effective, data-driven supply chain.”
