Meta is reportedly shutting down its Express Wi-Fi program after 5 years in operation.

The Express Wi-Fi program which launched in 2016 and was operating in 30 countries including Ghana, partnered with local partners to provide public Wi-Fi access to users.

The platform developed by Meta Connectivity enabled mobile and satellite operators and internet service providers to build, grow and monetize their Wi-Fi businesses in a sustainable and scalable way while providing their customers with fast, affordable, and reliable internet access over Wi-Fi.

Meta has partnered with Vodafone Ghana to roll out its Express WiFi program.

Meta stated in a blog post that they would be focusing on developing other projects as they wind down Express Wi-Fi.
