Network International, a leading digital payments provider in the Middle East and Africa, has partnered with Ghana-based fintech Blu Penguin to enable mobile money transactions on Network’s N-Genius™ point-of-sale terminals across Ghana.
Why it matters
This collaboration marks a major step toward expanding financial inclusion and enhancing digital payment accessibility in West Africa.
Merchants using N-Genius terminals in Ghana can now accept mobile money payments from all providers, supporting both banked and unbanked consumers.
What they’re saying:
- “This partnership with Blu Penguin reinforces our commitment to advancing digital commerce and financial inclusion,” said Chinwe Uzoho, Regional Managing Director, Western Africa – Processing at Network International.
- “It enhances our service offerings for banks by combining the strong mobile money processing capabilities of Blu Penguin with our industry-leading card infrastructure,” added Sebastian Yalley, Managing Director, Ghana – Processing at Network International.
- “By partnering with Network International, we are equipping banks and merchants with the ability to offer multiple payment options in a single app,” said Tenu Awoonor, Founder of Blu Penguin.
The big picture
- Network International expands its role as a third-party payment processor (TPP) in Ghana.
- Blu Penguin’s mobile-first tech, already active in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and DRC Congo, plugs into Network’s acquiring infrastructure to streamline mobile payments.
- The initiative aligns with growing fintech adoption and aims to simplify digital payments for millions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
What’s next
The rollout has begun in Ghana, with plans to extend the service to all financial institutions using Network’s N-Genius™ terminals in the country — and later, across Sub-Saharan Africa.
