Just when Uber thought the competition couldn’t get enough especially with the (re)launch of Taxify, another competitor has entered the market.
Enshika, an online taxi booking service, is operational in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi. Following the same principles as Uber and other ride-sharing companies, users can request rides from the Enshika app from a set point to their destinations. Riders can also book rides in advance.
With Enshika, riders (or Enshikans) get benefits of the app even after their ride has ended. Riders get Enshika points every time they take the ride. These points can be redeemed at various partner outlets that have tied up with Enshika to offer discounts to its customers.
Enshikans also earn points, every time their referred friends & family take a ride.
Enskika also offers special categorization of its customers with a special focus on Students & Corporates, who at the time of registration can choose their university/school/Organization are entitled to permanent discounts 24×7 based on these credentials.
Unlike Uber, Enshika has made it a corporate policy to not indulge in surge pricing as they feel it ‘s unfair and leaves a bad taste in the mouths of consumers.
Enshika is in discussions to expand its presence in countries in West, Central & East Africa.
Enshika has been in operation since November 2017 and definitely looks like an interesting concept. Users can download the Enshika app from the Google Playstore and iOS store.
