South Africa is set to become the latest country to offer a digital nomad visa, a special type of visa that allows remote workers and freelancers to live and work in the country for up to a year.
The visa, which was announced a newsletter by the South African president Cyril Ramaphosa is set to debut this year.

The digital nomad visa allows holders to enjoy the benefits of living in South Africa. The visa grants access to the country’s public health system and education system, as well as the right to open a bank account and rent a property.

The digital nomad visa is part of South Africa’s efforts to revive its economic sector. The country has seen almost 40,000 tech professionals leave South Africa in search of better career prospects and living conditions.
