The Founder of Ghana’s edtech Stars From All Nations has been tapped to join the pioneering task force of the World Bank Group’s Youth Voices, which is part of World Bank’s Youth2Youth community.
The Youth Voices chapter was launched at the World Bank field office in Accra on Wednesday 14th, December. The event received the participation of World Bank officials such as Patrick Mullen, Programme Lead, Human Development Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, Samik Adhikari, Senior Economist and Co-TTL for Youth Employment Project, Kennedy Fosu, Communications Officer, World Bank, and Abigail Yirrah, Global Lead for World Bank Youth2Youth Community.
The goal of the committee is to strengthen the country’s youth community engagement with the World Bank Group as an inclusive platform and lead the conversation on the importance of youth involvement in topics of development within the region. This will serve as an input source to Country Action Strategies, Country Partnership Framework, Sector Strategies, and selected investment programs of the Bank’s knowledge portfolio.
Patrick Mullen, Programme Lead, Human Development Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone at the World Bank said, “We expect the Youth Voices Chapter to enable informed young people to actively communicate to the World Bank what they believe the development challenges that affect them are, what their views and proposed solutions are, and inform the youth about the vision and work of the World Bank Group and engage them in dialogues and debates.”
Reacting to the chapter launch, Emewulu expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and hopes to share best practices, personal experiences, and learnings from building SFAN from a campus club in a small classroom into the leading education social enterprise in Ghana with the Youth Voices chapter. SFAN’s ReadyforWork digital career accelerator was chosen by International Finance Corporation and Village Capital among initiatives shaping the future of work in Africa in 2021.
