Starlink Doubles The Price of Its Services In Nigeria Due To “Excessive Inflation”

In an email to users in Nigeria, Starlink has announced that it will increase the price of its services in the country due to “excessive inflation.”

From October 31st, 2024, Starlink users in Nigeria will now have to pay N75,000 (~$48) for the Residential package, up from N38,000 (~$24). The mobile roam package also increases to N167,000 (~$100) and the roam global package increases to N717,000 (~$427).

This significant price hike has been attributed to the rising costs of maintaining and expanding the service in the region.

Inflation in Nigeria has been on a rising trend recently. As of August 2024, the inflation rate was 32.15%, slightly down from 33.40% in July 2024.
