Starlink Now Operational In Kenya

Starlink, the satellite internet company from Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has officially become operational in Kenya.

On the company’s website, Starlink has launched in Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nakuru, among other towns in the country.

Kenyans can access the service by purchasing the Starlink equipment including the Starlink dish and router.

About Starlink

Starlink is an internet service provided by SpaceX, which uses satellites to provide broadband internet across the globe.

The service provides speeds of between 20 to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) for regular consumers and 40-220 Mbps for business customers.

Why This Matters

Starlink had been approved to operate in different African countries including Nigeria, Rwanda, and Mozambique. Starlink expects to be operational in Ghana in 2024.
