When Tom-Chris Emewulu launched Stars From All Nations (SFAN) in a small classroom at Radford University in 2013, he had one goal: bridge the gap between education and industry.
He had just discovered a shocking statistic—only 3% of Ghana’s 66,000 annual university graduates found jobs within a year.
Determined to change the narrative, Emewulu and his team created three flagship events—Quantum Leap Career Fair, SFAN Business Breakfast Meeting, and Student Entrepreneurship Week—attracting major partners like Ecobank, British Council, MTN, and Ashoka.
By The Numbers
60% of Africa’s university graduates struggled to find jobs. SFAN quickly evolved into a pan-African movement, equipping young people with the skills and networks to thrive in a competitive job market.
Launch of ReadyforWork
- In 2021, SFAN launched ReadyforWork, an AI-powered career accelerator helping young Africans upskill in digital fields like software engineering, UX/UI design, and data science.
- Over 100 early-career professionals have since used the platform to gain meaningful employment.
- SFAN’s impact has gained global recognition. In 2022, the organization was featured on New York’s Times Square by Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center and partnered with Visa on career content initiatives.
In 2023, executives from Harvard Business School visited SFAN’s office in Ghana, highlighting its role in shaping Africa’s workforce.
Elevating the Brand
SFAN is doubling down on its mission with a brand refresh. The new website isn’t just a facelift—it’s a functional hub for young Africans to access scholarships, career services, startup resources, and high-impact training.
