Story Time: WhatsApp Status Update Feature Has More Daily Users Than Snapchat

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

Who could have seen this coming? Certainly not me.

I am not a fan of Snapchat or the new status feature on WhatsApp but apparently, a lot of you people are.

Facebook recently announced during its earnings call that the status update feature on WhatsApp has about 175 million daily users. This is compared to Snapchat’s daily users which average about 161 million users.

It’s been an interesting strategy devised by Facebook to steal  copy features from Snapchat into their own products and it seems to be working. Instagram’s story feature also appears to be a hit for the company as it gains more users every day.

I don’t know how users divide their time between Snapchat stories, WhatsApp and Instagram stories to be honest. But it seems that they have no problem using all three.
