Internet observatory organization Netblocks confirmed the outage to the platform, reporting that X has been limited on Tanzania’s primary internet providers.

Prominent political opposition figures including Tundu Lissu from the Chadema party, have been arrested and taken into custody by security forces.

Tanzania’s police force, TANPOL, claims that the opposition is using Zoom meetings to organize small groups of about 20 people and planning to raid offices and police stations.
