Tech Nova Presents: Tech Tournament Challenge

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 3 Min Read

Have you heard about March Madness? The popular university basketball tournament in the US? Well, there’s a popular “Bracket Challenge” that most people play whenever the tournament starts in March, where they guess which teams will win their match up and advance to the finals.

It’s a fun game where everyone can play.

With that inspiration, we at Tech Nova have decided to create our own “March Madness” tournament. Today, we’re launching the “Tech Tournament Challenge” where we’ll be pitting tech companies against each other in an “Ecosystem battle” and the audience and readers decide the winners at the end.

How to Play

To play the tournament, you have to be following our Twitter page where we’ll be having a weekly poll where we pit two tech startups against each other. The audience votes on their favorite startups in the match-up.

Polls will close after one week and the startup with the most votes advances to the next round.

A new poll will go up for the next matchups for the week after, where the audience will vote again on which startup goes to the next round.

This will happen until the final where an eventual winner will be crowned.

The Match Ups

For our challenge matchups, we took a look at the Ghana Tech ecosystem and looked at current tech startups/companies operating in Ghana. We matched up companies by similarity and ranked them. So you might see a larger company (Ranked #1) go against a smaller but well-known company (Ranked #16).

It will depend on how readers and the audience votes so the rankings don’t really have that much pull.

In total, there are 32 companies competing. So here are the matchups:

The tournament starts next week. Maybe the best startup win!
