For the 2025 cycle at the World Summit Awards (WSA), Ghana had three startups among the 40 global winners, reinforcing the country’s growing leadership in impact-driven innovation on the global stage.
Ghana had the biggest number of winners for any country, following another strong showing in the 2024 cycle, where there were 3 winning Ghanaian startups out of 40.
The 2025 winners are as follows:
Vitara — Agritech with Traceability and Climate Focus
What it does
Vitara digitises farm data and connects smallholder farmers to markets and climate-smart practices. By improving traceability and income opportunities — especially for women in agricultural value chains — it helps rural producers compete fairly in global supply chains.

Ghana’s 2024 Winners and the 2025 Summit in India
In 2024, three Ghanaian innovations also won WSA awards:
- Achieve Investment App — a financial planning and investment platform backed by Petra that simplifies goal-based investing for middle-class users with tens of thousands of active users.
- Chango — a group contributions and crowdfunding platform helping communities raise funds with ease, trust, and transparency.
- Khaya AI — an African language AI platform supporting translation and speech recognition to preserve and expand access to local languages.
These 2024 winners attended the WSA Global Congress in Hyderabad, India (April 6–9, 2025), where they presented solutions, engaged in high-level discussions, and connected with innovators, investors, and global leaders in tech and sustainable development.
They attended alongside a Ghanaian delegation led by Dorothy Gordon (WSA Ghana National Expert), Kafui Anson-Yevu, Kwesi Hayford, and Ato Ulzen-Appiah.

This year’s theme, “Scaling Digital Solutions: For People & Planet,” will bring together winners, experts, partners, and innovators from around the world for several days of inspiration, learning, and networking.
During the Congress, winning teams will present their solutions and compete for the Global Champion titles. The program will also feature workshops, matchmaking sessions, and discussions with key stakeholders from across the digital impact ecosystem. The event is hosted by the City of Vienna as part of ViennaUP, Central Europe’s largest startup and innovation festival, offering even more opportunities to connect and collaborate.
