Youth employment advocate and SFAN founder Tom-Chris Emewulu is set to attempt a 100-hour Guinness World Record for the Longest Interviewing Marathon from October 28 to November 1, during Global Student Entrepreneurship Week 2025.
The Big Picture
Emewulu’s marathon aims to spotlight African ingenuity and youth empowerment by hosting back-to-back interviews with entrepreneurs and changemakers worldwide.
This will also mark the launch of ReadyforWork v4, SFAN’s new AI-powered career platform connecting African youth to in-demand skills and global job opportunities.
Not His First Attempt
In 2024, Emewulu completed 100 hours of interviews, but technical recording issues stopped Guinness from validating the record.
“Breaking this record reinforced my belief that nothing is impossible,” Emewulu said. “This second attempt is my way of inspiring young Africans to try again, no matter how many times it takes.”
Why It Matters
Africa’s youth unemployment remains one of the continent’s biggest challenges.
Emewulu’s effort is less about endurance and more about demonstrating that young Africans deserve global recognition, platforms, and investment.
“If I can sit for 100 hours to create opportunities for young people, we can all commit to building systems they need to thrive,” he said.
