Uber Ghana has rolled out a new feature for riders in cases of emergencies. The emergency button feature for riders is linked to private security and emergency medical services in Ghana.

How It Works

If a rider feels unsafe or is in an emergency situation, they can access the button in the Safety Toolkit section in the Uber app to call emergency services from AURA, Uber’s official safety partner.

How to use the emergency button from the Uber app

Step 1: Tap on the shield icon at the bottom left of the app screen during a trip to access the Emergency Toolkit

Step 2: Tap Emergency Assistance

Step 3: Swipe the red button to call for emergency assistance
