Uber Now Lets You Request A Ride For Friends And Family Members

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 2 Min Read

Have you ever wanted to request a ride for a friend from one place to another through the Uber app? Well, you could but then you would have to do some gymnastics to achieve that.

But now, Uber is making that process simpler.

If you’re on the Uber app and you set the pickup away from your current location, the app will automatically ask whether the ride is for a family member or friend. You can then select from your address book, set a destination, and request the ride on their behalf.

Once the driver is on the way, the person who got the Uber requested for, will receive a text message with the driver’s details and a link to track the driver’s route.

Other details such as the driver’s phone number will also be displayed which will enable the rider to contact the Uber driver directly.

The Uber driver will also be able to the rider’s name and contact them if they need to.
