If you’ve ever used Uber in Accra, you know that the app has a feature which allows you to rate drivers and see driver ratings whenever you request for a ride. Riders get the option to rate your driver out of 5 stars when their trip is over.

On the other side, drivers can also rate riders after a trip is over. Important things like being at the pickup location, common courtesy, and being a good passenger, are factors which drivers use in rating riders.

Recently, Uber rolled out an update to their app whereby a rider can now see their rider rating.

Rider ratings now underneath Profile Names

If you update your Uber app, you will now be able to see your star rating underneath your profile picture in the side menu. Before that, you had to shift through various menu options but now it’s easily visible.

Uber is rolling out this update to encourage riders to be a bit more pleasant and on time with their drivers. Habits like slamming car doors, being rude and being late for pickups are bound to attract low ratings from drivers.

So next time you’re in an Uber, you might want to be a little nicer to your driver to get that 5-star rating. Nobody wants to pick up a rider who has 2.0 rating….
