Voice Slide Into The DMs: Instagram Adds Voice Messaging To Direct Messaging

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 1 Min Read

The popular social media photo sharing site has added a voice messaging feature to its Direct Messages. This feature allows users to share audio messages to each other either one or one or in group chats. Audio messages can be up to one minute long.

Just like in other apps like WhatsApp, users hold down the microphone button in the chatbox and record. Messages send automatically when the button is released. But you can slide your finger over to a trash icon to delete the message.

The voice messaging feature update is currently rolling out to all users on iOS and Android.
