Wentors is proud to announce the launch of our 2023 International Women’s Day Mentorship Cohort, generously sponsored by Barclays and Amazon Payments.
The program aims to empower women to achieve their full potential in the tech industry by providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and skills development resources.
This year, we have added two new tracks to our traditional mentorship program: the We-Work track and the We-Learn track. The We-Work track is designed to assist women in technology who are looking to be placed in job/internship roles within the industry.
Partnered with Get Funded Africa (GFA), and Flapmax we intend to help women gain practical industry experience.
The We-Learn track provides participants with access to certified learning platforms to help them gain new skills and knowledge for free. This track is powered by members of our partner ecosystem, specifically Alx, Tech4Dev, and Datacamp Donates.
Over the years, Wentors has made a significant impact on the lives of women in the tech industry. We have matched more than 3000 women with experienced mentors, provided over 3500 networking opportunities, and given access to more than 40,000 hours of skills development resources. Our participants have consistently reported increased confidence, improved skills, and new career opportunities as a result of their involvement in the program.
Here’s what some of our past participants have to say:
“I would like to thank my wentor for helping me get clear on my vision.” – Makena Sandra, 2021 Mentee”
“A goldmine of invaluable information. The experience felt like a goldmine of invaluable information. The knowledge and tips shared has really changed my life. I’m deeply grateful for the chance to be part of this well thought program.” – Fancy Kirouk, 2021
The 2023 IWD Mentorship Cohort is open to women of all ages and experience levels who are interested in pursuing a career in the tech industry.
“We’ve always launched our We-Discover mentorship cohort to mark International Women’s Day, and this year is no different. We believe in a future of technology that has women duly represented in every facet, and this is why the IWD mentorship cohort is important to us,” said Toluwase Olugbemiro, the communications lead.
