What We’re Working On With Tech Nova 5.0

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 4 Min Read

Today, Tech Nova turns officially turns 6 years. We’ve been in operation since 2017. We’ve published over 2000+ articles including news stories, featured articles, and more.

Since the beginning of 2023, we’ve rolled out a couple of new features on our website. Here is a couple of them:

Tech Directory

We created a directory where you can check out tech companies and startups currently operating in Ghana: Tech Startups Companies In Ghana

Tech Job Board

A space where employers can post tech jobs in Ghana: Check out our Job Board

Data Portal Subscription

Preview of Data Portal

We’re “re-launching” our data portal. With this data portal, you can access a database of tech companies in the Ghanaian tech ecosystem.

You will gain access to a dashboard with data points about Ghana’s tech ecosystem as well as a search section to display data for specific tech companies including the company’s founders, the year they founded, and if they’ve raised any money.

*For 3 days, we’re giving users free access to the data portal: (Requires an Airtable account to access)

For the rest of 2023, we’ll be rolling out a couple of new initiatives. This will be “Tech Nova 5.0” Here is a couple of initiatives we’ve got coming later this year:

New Podcast Show

We started a new podcast show sometime last year called “What’s Your Story“. It’s a podcast show where we talk to entrepreneurs, business people, and creatives about their personal journeys and the products, projects, and things they’ve built.

Later this year, we’re launching a new podcast show. This new show will focus more on tech news and interviews with individuals in the tech field to get a deeper perspective on things in tech.

Community/In-Person Events

Tech Nova will work on organising in-person events which focus on specific themes in the tech ecosystem. We’ll be having mixer-type events and some of them will have a panel-discussion-type event where we discuss technology themes in the ecosystem in Ghana.

Online Community Group

We’re currently experimenting with a Telegram Channel to help build up an online community. Wherever you are in the world, you can join the channel through Telegram and get news delivered straight to you.

We will also experiment with other online community tools like WhatsApp to see which works best for our readers and community.

Rebrand – A New Name and Logo

When we started, we were covering just the Ghanaian tech ecosystem and so we named our website “Tech Nova GH”. But as we’ve been evolving and writing more stories in Africa, we felt that we’ve outgrown the name and need a more suitable replacement.

This year we’ll be going through a rebrand starting with our name and perhaps even a new web design.

For now, you can still visit technovagh.com and get all your tech news but later this year, you’ll be redirected to a new website down the line.

Don’t worry, it’s still going to be largely the same content that you love.
