According to reports, X (formerly Twitter) is going to make changes to the functionality of the “Block” feature on the platform.

According to an app researcher, if one user blocks an account, they will still be able to see the public posts of that user.

Elon Musk confirmed these changes but a date when the new changes will be rolled out was not stated.

Details

Blocked users will see the account’s public posts like they were any other user. There will likely be limitations in reposting, quoting, replying, or engaging with blocked accounts.

Flashback

The Twitter platform introduced this functionality to the Block feature almost 10 years ago but reversed that decision after it was rolled out due to backlash.
