Global technology company, Xiaomi (MI) has officially launched its first West Africa office in Accra, Ghana.
The company held an official opening at its Spintex office, opposite Frema House on Saturday, October 16.
Xiaomi (MI) is best known for smart accessories including phones, earpieces, and televisions.
Interacting with the media, the Chief Executive of DeviceTech, Hassan Mikati said MI products are affordable and their quality cannot be matched to any piece of equipment.
“It will be a very good impact because the prices cannot be matched. We are number one in Europe, we are number one in Asia and we will be number one in Africa. This brand is very high earned, packaging wise, specification wise, and everything. So quality-wise, our brand is much better and they can’t compete,” he said.
He was, therefore optimistic that the brand has “come to stay”.
Mr Mikati further mentioned that Xiaomi would be engaging telecommunication networks in Ghana to sell some of the company’s accessories.
