Yango Opens Regional African HQ in Abidjan, Deepens Commitment to Continent

2 Min Read

UAE-based tech company Yango Group has launched a new regional office in Abidjan, marking a major milestone in its Africa expansion.

The hub will serve as the company’s continental headquarters, coordinating operations across 16 countries and solidifying its long-term strategy to build locally rooted digital ecosystems.

Why it matters

Yango’s move reinforces a growing trend of international tech firms establishing African bases to tap into the continent’s fast-evolving digital economy.

With 200 staff already in place, the Abidjan hub will serve as a launchpad for scaling operations and innovation across Africa.

Africa was where our journey started — and today, we are investing in the future by making Abidjan home to our largest office in Africa,” said Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group.

Zoom out

Yango entered Africa in 2018 with a launch in Côte d’Ivoire. Since then, it has built a multi-service Super App offering ride-hailing, food delivery, navigation, e-commerce, and digital payments.

The company’s model emphasizes blending global technologies with local realities to empower small businesses, drivers, couriers, and users.

The big picture

  • Yango plans to expand into more countries and roll out tailored B2B tech services.
  • Its approach focuses on building integrated digital ecosystems, rather than siloed services.
  • This strategy aims to unlock economic opportunity and strengthen local value chains.

Talent development on the rise

As part of its broader strategy, Yango is scaling its Yango Fellowship to a pan-African level. Already active in Côte d’Ivoire, the program will now be coordinated from Abidjan and aims to equip hundreds of thousands of young Africans with future-ready digital skills.

We’re helping build the foundation for long-term innovation,” said Shuleyko. “With programs like the Yango Fellowship, we want to empower the next generation of African tech leaders.”
