Apart from the Apples and Samsungs of the world, the OnePlus smartphone is arguably one of the best smartphones on the market.
The latest edition of the OnePlus phone is currently the OnePlus 3T. But this summer, according to the Verge, it looks like OnePlus will be releasing the OnePlus 5 this summer.
Why straight to “5” instead of “4”? It seems like the number “4” is considered an unlucky number in China, where OnePlus is based.
If you’re smartphone enthusiasts, you might want to be on the lookout for this phone this summer. There’s not a lot of details or specs about the OnePlus 5 but rumors say, there might be a dual camera set up.
With the Apple iPhone rumored to be delayed till 2018 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 sitting atop of the smartphone mountain, OnePlus could easily make a case to be number one. We’ll have to wait till the summer to find out.

It looks like there’s been a leak of the phone’s specs. According to Neowin, the specifications of the phone were made available on a Chinese retail site and they look quite impressive. The phone said to have a dual 23MP camera, a 16MP front-facing camera, 8GB of RAM, 64Gb of internal storage plus Micro SD for expandable storage, a 5.5 inch screen, a 4000 mAh battery and a USB-Type C for charging but no headphone jack which means you might need a pair of earphones with a USB-Type C.
We’ll have to wait and see if these specs turn out to be true. Summer is just around the corner.
