The presentation was to highlight enhancements made to the ExpressPay’s Bank Direct feature. The Bank Direct feature now makes use of the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Services (GHIPSS) Instant Pay service.

Bank Direct With Instant Pay

The Bank Direct feature is a money transfer service that enables instant transfers into bank accounts in Ghana. Consumers can move money from various sources including mobile money wallets and bank accounts into other accounts instantly.

Bank Direct now makes use of the GhIPSS Instant Pay service. The Instant Pay service allows payments to be sent across financial institutions electronically from one bank account to the other as a single immediate payment.

Users of the ExpressPay app will be able to make real time money transfers to bank accounts of other people instantly without a wait period.

User Interface Updates To iOS, Android Coming Soon

During the presentation, Mr Vanderpuije also showed off the new user interface (UI) enhancements on iOS. The new UI updates look really great and features a more modern look on iOS.

Android users will still have to wait for their turn to try out the new UI. When I asked Mr Vanderpuije about when Android users could be seeing the new update on their devices, he responded that the team was hard at work and the update could be coming in less than two months.

All in all, ExpressPay seems to be running the tables on their mobile payment app competitors. With this new Instant Pay enhancement, ExpressPay is solidifying themselves as the number one go to payment app in Ghana.

You can try out the ExpressPay app with the new Bank Direct feature by downloading from the Android Playstore  or iOS appstore
